Seward Square Group was founded in 2009 by James Pericola who has worked in Washington, D.C. at all levels of federal government, as a Presidential appointee, congressional staff member, and private sector attorney and consultant. He has an extensive working knowledge based on 25 years of experience of the intricate interplay between Capitol Hill, the White House, federal agencies, state governments, private sector stakeholders, and public organizations. He has extensive experience providing guidance on legislative and regulatory processes, developing legislative and regulatory initiatives and government affairs strategy for representation on Capitol Hill and relevant agencies of jurisdiction to Fortune 100 Companies, a broad cross section of international clients, institutional investors and hedge funds, trade associations and state and local governments.
His broad area of practice has included healthcare and the Affordable Care Act, retail, economic regulation, environmental protection, transportation and infrastructure, and political action. Additionally, he brings a significant amount of international experience, having previously served as the Washington Counsel for Holcim, Incorporated, which has operations in over 70 countries and where he traveled extensively. Prior to Holcim, he worked at the international law firm, Dillon, Hall & Lungershausen LLC, which had offices in Hong Kong, Stuttgart and Washington, and handled all of the outside litigation for DamilerChrysler AG. He also worked in the British House of Commons for a Member of Parliament.
James holds both a B.A. and J.D. from The Catholic University of America and is a member of the District of Columbia
